Purpose: This study attempted to analyze the problems embedded in National early childhood curriculum from
the perspective of preparation for the future society. Namely, it focused on how the national early childhood
curriculum might pursuit disharmony with the creative man required form the future society in the era of AI.
Method: This study found that early childhood curriculum at National level has several problems that might
refrain the essence of ‘play’ for young children, which is the most critical element in early childhood education.
In addition, the contents of knowledge in curriculum do not seem to consistent with the content knowledge
within the theme based integrated curriculum. Moreover, the teachers seem to identify the manual of theme
based curriculum as if the National curriculum. Results: This study suggested that National early childhood
curriculum should be revised that could promote the real play for young children. In order to do this, the most
sub-contents of knowledge in curriculum, particularly in the five areas, should be removed, and the daily routine
should be revised with the emphasis on free-play activity and outdoor play activity as the core subject matters.
Conclusion: In sum, this study suggests that national early childhood curriculum must be revised based on ‘play’
which is only way to support young children becoming the creative human corresponding to the future society
in the era of AI.
