This study aims to examine the relationship among motivation for accomplishment, academic self-efficacy, social
support, pursuit of career values, and work attitude and also investigate the Mediating Role of Academic
Self-Efficacy and Social Support in order to provide career counseling for adolescents based on their psychological
characteristics. A survey was conducted on a community sample of high school students (N=459/Kyonggi-do
Province) and the following results were obtained. First, motivation for accomplishment was related to academic
self-efficacy, social support, pursuit of career values, and work attitude. Second, academic self-efficacy was related
to pursuit of career values and work attitude, and social support was related to career values. Third, motivation
for accomplishment was related to pursuit of career values, mediated by academic self-efficacy, while motivation
for accomplishment, mediated by social support, was related to work attitude. Conclusion and implications of
these findings were also discussed.
