Today, with the development of digital technologies and the spread of open-source hardware, new ways
and types of electronics instruments are emerging. These electronic instruments enable users to generate
audiovisual expression through connecting the electronic instruments with digital environments. Within these
digital flows, different electronic traditional instruments are also actively being been developed. However, an
electronic Korean fiddle is under-developed at present. Thus, this research aims to develop an electronic
Korean fiddle and interactive audiovisual contents through connecting it to a 3-D digital environment. The
electronic Korean fiddle proposed in this research was developed by using a soft membrane potentiometer
and pressure sensors based on open-source hardware, Arduino. Users can easily play it as new ways. Also, a character model was developed in a 3-D digital environment to support dance movements in real time
according to user’s performance of the electronic Korean fiddle. This interactive audiovisual contents was
tested in the exhibition. This research contributes to development of a electronic traditional instrument.
