본 연구는 미술과 중심의 진로탐색 프로그램을 설계하고 실제 학교현장에 적용해봄으로써 학습자의 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보는 것을 목적으로 둔다. 최근 교육에서는 학생들 각 개인의 흥미와 재능을 발견하고 그에 따른 적절한 교육의 기회를 제공할 수 있는, 행복한 삶을 위한 진로교육에 대해 관심이 높다. 이에 따른 방안으로 교과 간의 통합적 접근 을 통한 진로교육이 강조되고 있는데, 특히 미술과의 경우, 내면화, 자기탐구, 시각적 표현 등과 같은 미술과 만의 특성을 바탕으로 한 진로교육의 실천을 기대할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 학습자가 다양한 시각적 표현활동의 참여를 통해 ‘자기이해’에서 ‘진로탐색’으로의 단계를 거치면서 자신에 대해 이해하는 시간을 갖고, 스스로 진로를 설계 및 탐색할 수 있도 록 총 12차시의 프로그램을 계획하고 78명의 학생들에게 적용해봄으로써 이러한 프로그램이 갖는 효과성에 대해 알아보고 자 하였다. 본 연구에 참여한 실험집단의 진로성숙도 전체 총점과 각 하위영역 별 사전·사후 비교 시 모두 유의미한 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구는 미술과 중심의 진로탐색 프로그램이 미술의 자기표현적이고 성찰적인 장점을 바탕으 로 진로에 대한 깊이 있는 고민과 계획을 수립할 수 있는 기회 제공의 가능성을 살펴보았다는 점에서 의의를 가진다.
This study examined the effects of career exploration program on career maturity. In recent education, there is a high interest in career education for a happy life that can discover the interests and talents of each individual student and provide opportunities for appropriate education to them. As a response, curriculum integration career education is emphasized. Especially, based on curriculum integration career education with art subject, we can expect effective practices that students can induce internalization, self-inquiry, and visual expression through arts. Thus, this study developed 12 lessons for 78 middle school learners which can help them to shift from self-understanding to career exploration based on character and strengths of art subject and design and explore career. As a result of conducting career maturity level of experiment group, there were significant differences in overall score and comparisons between domains of career maturity level before and after classes. Therefore, this study is meaningful since it examined possibility of providing opportunity to learners to consider and plan one's career based on self-expressive and introspective strengths of art.
