The technology and society are rapidly developing, but Korean education system is slowly developing.
Education is a kind of important activities for human life. Rote learning based on objectivism makes
human think uniformly and has a limitation of growing future-oriented person. Korean public schools based
on objectivism education focuses on teacher-centered learning. A class consists of lots of students and a
teacher controls all lessons and students. Students study many courses fixed according to their ages. They
regularly take tests for checking their knowledge skills.
On the contrary to this, constructivism prefers a learner-centered learning environment. There are classes
with small group for discussion, and students learn on their unique experiences. Students study what they
want in an atmosphere of freedom and they construct and understand their knowledge by self-directed
learning method. This research is aimed to compare education on constructivism and objectivism and to
investigate curriculum effectiveness of a special alternative school based on constructivism through
questionnaire survey analysis.
