이 연구는 대상학생이 가지고 있는 내·외적 강점을 파악하여 이를 중재전략으로 활용하는 강점중심 중재전략이 자폐성 장애 학생의 자해 및 공격 행동에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 특수학교의 초등학교에 재학 중인 두 명의 학생을 대상으로 하였다. 연구방법은 연구대상자들이 자주 보이는 표적행동(자해 및 공격 행동)을 기존의 다른 중재 방법(무관심 및 강압적 통제)과의 효과성의 차이를 검증하기 위해 반전설계를 사용하였다. 강점중심 중재(동기중재, 전조중재, 진행중재, 후속중재)를 독립 변인으로 하였으며 표적행동인 자해 및 공격 행동을 종속변인으로 하였다. 중재 결과, 강점중심 중재가 자폐성 학생의 자해 및 공격 행동을 감소시키거나 소거시키는데 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.
This study is to investigate the effects of strength-oriented intervention strategies based on internal and external strengths of students with autism spectrum disorders. Tow students with autism spectrum disorders in a elementary special school participated in this study. They frequently appeared targeted behaviors which were self-injurious and aggressive behaviors. The reversal design was employed to examine the difference between strength-oriented intervention and the other interventions as indifference and coercive control for students with autism spectrum disorders The independent variable was the strength-oriented intervention composed of steps as motive intervention, pre-symptoms intervention, progress intervention and follow up intervention. The dependent variable was self-injurious and aggressive behaviors seen by students with autism spectrum disorders after interventions. The result showed that target behaviors of participants was reduced and eliminated by strength-oriented interventions. That is the strength-oriented intervention strategy had a positive effects on self-injurious and aggressive behaviors of student with autism spectrum disorders.
