The after-school childeducare(방과후아동보육) facilities have increased in number around the country. Their key role was to look after children instead of their working or absent parents. But from the late \'90s there have been a strong requirement that they should help serve the childhood welfare(아동복지) and develop their positive personality.
So through this study, I will present the so called \"The Parents-Children Understanding Enhancement Program\" which can be used to do the same in those facilities. The purpose of this study is to make sure that this program can promote the mutual understanding of parents and children, and to verify that this program can have a positive and effective influence on their psycho-social development.
A variety of previous studies and theories will be considered, but \"Maju Iyagi education method\"--The Face-to-face Story Telling or Listening to a Child--will be mainly applied in my Parents-Children Understanding Enhancement Program. That method was developed for preschoolers by Park moon hee who is Aram kindergarten general ledger. The key is to listen to a child and to be moved by their expressing themselves.
To measure the result of the application of my program, I used an organized questionnaire before and after the use of the program. And I analyzed the change of the children\'s reactions using SPSS 10.0, which is a social science statistics analysis package. The chief analysis technique is t-test and Pearson\'s interrelation analysis.
The results are summarized as follows.
First, in the case of parents-children understanding, the experiment group showed more meaningful and positive changes than the control group.
Second, in the case of sociality, the experiment group showed more meaningful enhancement in being receptive, but less in being sociable. But roughly we can conclude that this program helps develop children\'s sociality.
Third, in the case of emotionality,(정서성) there is little difference between the experiment group and the control group in peer emotionality.(또래정서성) But in family emotionality(가족정서성), the result showed that the program enhanced it just a little bit in the experiment group.
I should say that I have the limit to apply this program. I couldn\'t experiment this program in much more facilities, and I couldn\'t examine the effect of it in various regions and to a variety of objects. I cannot find yet why this program can\'t enhance the development of emotionality.think more factors and circumstances should be examined in detail. Nevertheless I could conclude this study is significant.
Consequently the significance of this research will be summed up as follows.
1. By verifying ffectiveness of Parents-Children Understanding Enhancement program, we could get empirical data to supplement.enhance the after-school child care activities.
2. It is possible that we expand the objects and range of the Parents-Children Understanding Enhancement program. The face-to-face story telling method can apply to the after-school child care, not to only the preschool children.
3. There is a possibility that the facilities can cooperate with the family in bringing up the childedcare. This program requires parents and other family members\' active participation. And through their interactions, they can naturally become interested in their children and understand them.
In the aspect of social welfare, this program has the significance.Because this program is a child care program into which the family, parents, local community and children participates, this program can satisfy the child care service, approach the whole problem-solving of the children and support their desirable development.
