본 연구는 초등학교 5, 6학년 아동을 대상으로 모자녀간 의사소통 유형과 아동의 스트레스 및 정서적 부적응 행동과의 관계를 살펴봄으로써 아동의 바람직한 인성 및 사회적 적응을 위한 어머니의 역할을 강조하고, 학령기 아동의 스트레스 및 정서적 부적응 행동 예방을 위한 부모교육의 중요성을 강조하고자 하였다. 본 연구결과에서 모자녀간 의사소통 유형과 아동의 스트레스 및 정서적 부적응 행동이 가정의 화목도 변인에서 일관적으로 유의미한 차이를 나타냈는데, 이러한 결과는 가족구성원간의 상호작용이 중요하다는 것을 보여주고 있다. 어머니와의 역기능적인 의사소통이 아동의 스트레스와 정서적 부적응 행동에 영향을 미치게 된다는 상관관계에 착안하여 부모자녀간의 바람직한 의사소통을 위한 부모교육 프로그램의 실시와 이에 대한 지역사회 및 정부의 지원 프로그램이 절실히 요구된다.
This study is to examine the relationship between mother-child communication style and children\'s stress and also the emotionally maladjusted behaviors, with an emphasis on mother\'s role and parent education to help children develop desirable personality and social adjustment. It also intends to provide basic materials for the parent education preventing school-aged children\'s stress and emotionally maladjusted behaviors. The major finding of this study is that there was a significant correlation between mother-child communication style and children\'s stress and also the emotionally maladjusted behaviors. It shows the importance of the interaction of family members in the family function. As a conclusion, this study shows the necessity of more studies on family stress in point of not only mother-child relationship but also communication improvement in family system. The children\'s emotionally maladjusted behavior also needs the homing treatment. Depending on the result that the dysfunctional communication with mother causes the children\'s stress and children\'s emotionally maladjusted behavior, the parent education activities and special programs supported by community and government are ultimately needed.
