The purpose of this study was to investigate the praise preferences of Sunday school elementary students and to examine the background factors that influence these particular preferences. Total numbers of 1,018 subjects participated in the survey and the participants were selected from fourth, fifth, and sixth grades of elementary schools from all over the country. The researcher mailed out surveys three times and collected data from October 1 to October 29. The data were statistically analyzed and the results were following: first, there was significant differences among the gender groups and grade levels regarding preferences in praising method. The female students preferred the more active praising method and lower the grades as well. Second, there were differences among the gender groups and ministry in praising genre preferences. The female students showed higher preferences for hymn, children\'s hymn, CCM and children\'s CCM than the male students. It was also noted that those who served as accompanists, choir members, and praise team members preferred these types of genres more than those of who did not. Lastly, the church\'s location as well as the instrumental usage within the church showed significant differences. Students from churches using only the piano preferred praise more than those from churches using electrical instruments did when singing hymns, children\'s hymns, CCM, or children\'s CCM.
