The present study purposed to examine adolescents\' parent-adolescent communication and interpersonal relation disposition according to the characteristic of their mobile phone addiction. The subjects of this study were 303 middle/high school students in Namyangju City. A survey was conducted using a self reporting questionnaire, and collected data were analyzed with SPSS 12.0. The results were as follows. First, parent‐adolescent communication was highly dysfunctional for both parents in adolescents addicted to the mobile phone. Second, with regard to interpersonal relation according to the degree of mobile phone addiction, dominance and superiority among role dispositions and sociality among social relation dispositions were observed frequently in the addiction group. In addition, among expression dispositions, competition, aggression, ostentation, self‐absorption and defiance were observed frequently in the addiction group. Third, the degree of mobile phone addiction and parent‐adolescent communication appeared to affect adolescents’ interpersonal relation disposition. The results of this study are expected to be useful in developing effective interventions for adolescents\' healthy growth.
