The four-component model was the first introduced by Rest. Contemporary theories of moral development were supported by 4 component model. But the relationships between these components have been relatively unexplored. This study investigated hypothesis that variables of 4 component model would indirectly or directly influence moral behavior. The Subjects were 507 undergraduates from university in Daegu, Daejeon, and Kyungpook. Data were analyzed by Pearson\'s correlation, stepwise multiple regression and path analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows:
First, There was positive correlation among moral sensitivity, moral motivation, moral character and prescriptive behavior. but no significant correlation between moral reasoning and prescriptive behavior. There was negative correlation among moral sensitivity, moral reasoning, moral motivation, moral character and proscriptive behavior. Moral motivation, moral
character, moral sensitivity were significant contributor to predict prescriptive behavior. Moral character and moral motivation were significant contributor to predict proscriptive behavior.
Second, moral character, moral sensitivity, and moral motivation had a direct effect on prescriptive behavior. Moral reasoning served as a mediator of the relation between moral sensitivity and moral motivation. Moral character and moral motivation had a direct effect on proscriptive behavior. Moral sensitivity and moral reasoning had no direct effect on it.
