The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of parents education with P.E.T. and Reality Therapy, the changes in parents attitudes of upbringing and communications based on the importance and necessity of parents effectiveness. More specifically, this research was to analyze how the communications with their children were changed after parents took the parent education training and how the diverse methods to guide children were changed and was to examine the effectiveness of the upbringing attitude of parents and communications with children and the extent that parents perceive this effectiveness.
This research executed a parent education program with 18 parents that participated in the parent education program in D culture center of G city for 36 hours in total, 3 hours per day for 12 weeks and pro-tests and post-tests were performed to examine the changes in the upbringing attitudes of the parents that had participated in the parents education program and the methods of communications with their children.
The result of this research is as follows. Through the efficient parents education, statistical upbringing attitudes and inconsistent upbringing attitudes were decreased and on the other hand, affective upbringing attitudes were increased. Also, the communication skills of the parents were enhanced after taking the parents education and the parents brought in quite positive changes in the relations with their children and the ties between family members were revealed to have been enhanced. Therefore, parent education can be considered to be a parent role program that is efficient to enhance smooth relations with children and it can be utilized as the guidelines to maintain and improve the relations between parents and children by providing the basis to interpret all situations that parents would face in daily life.
