이 연구는 역량기반 교사연수를 위한 기초 연구로서 초등학교 교사에게 필요한 역량에 대한 교육요구를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 경기와 인천지역 초등학교에 근무하는 교사 420명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 자료 수집을 위한 설문지는 교육인적자원연수원이 전국 단위로 개발한 교사 역량모델을 토대로 하여 3개의 역량군과 19개의 하위 역량에 대한 초등학교 교사의 중요성 인식과 실제 수행 수준을 5점 척도로 응답하도록 구성하였다. 최종 회수된 327부의 설문지는 보리치 (Borich)의 교육 요구도 계산공식을 적용하여 분석하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 교사들이 19개 역량에 대해 인식하는 중요도 수준은 실제 수행 수준 보다 모두 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 19개 역량중에서, 초등학교 교사들은 윤리의식, 교과전문성, 상호신뢰, 학생이해, 의사소통, 교수-학습 역량에 대해 높은 교육요구를 가지고 있었다. 셋째, 초등학교 교사들의 역량에 대한 교육요구 수준은 성별, 교직경력, 보직 유무, 학교 소재지 등 개인 특성에 따라 상이한 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to analyse the educational needs of elementary school teachers on the teachers\' competencies. In order to achieve the objective, a survey questionnaire was developed which consisted of 19 teachers competencies based on the N.E.I.T. competencies model. This study conducted the questionnaire survey on the perceptions of 327 elementary school teachers in Gyeonggi and Incheon Area. The data were analyzed by using Borich\'s needs assessment formula. The findings of this study were as follows: 1) The perceived importance levels of the teachers\' competencies were higher than those of the current performance levels. 2) Elementary school teachers had the high educational needs on the teachers\' competencies and the highest priority to be developed were different. 3) Elementary school teachers had a different level of educational needs on the competencies according to their gender, teaching experiences, position, and school location.
