As the difficulty in the parenting practices gets larger due to today\'s highly education fever and to rapidly social change, in the relationship with children, parents are appealing the conflict and confusion in light of role performance. Also, it is getting higher even in the desire for parent education aiming to improve the relationship with children, coupled with the needs in a bid to have confidence in disciplining children. There are several kinds of parent-education programs that can be conducive to this. Even among them, it is being recognized that the transactional analysis program has the excellent effectiveness on the activation in communication and in ego function, and on the improvement in human relations, through various researches. Accordingly, this study was aimed to examine the influence upon the enhancement in the parent-adolescent communication and in the family functioning, by forming the transactional-analysis parent education program targeting parents in the preventive dimension. In terms of the subjects in this study, the experiment group comprised 10 mothers who have children in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades of B elementary school where is located in Gimhae-si, and the comparison group consisted of 10 persons in the homogeneous group, aiming to maintain the same condition. The program of this study was carried out over totally 8 times by 2 hours and 30 minutes with twice a week. Given seeing these results, it can be seen that the transactional-analysis parent education program in this study is useful in solving the confusion in light of role performance that parents suffer in the relationship with children, and can ultimately become a tool that parents can display the positive influence upon children, by educating parents in a communication training that can mutually interchange.
