The purpose of this research was to develop and apply expressive physical
activity for elementary school children using children\'s English songs. Children
liked to move freely and express their feeling and thinking naturally, and
expressive physical activity helped children mentally, emotionally, physically, and
socially. However, this research was based on the theory of \'Total Physical
Response\' which supports the notion that children can learn language though body
movements, and then children can remember language easily because of body
movements. Also, this research was concerned of \'Elementary Physical Education\'
and \'Elementary English\'. The basic contents of expressive physical activity were
body, time, space, and energy, and the basic movements were locomotive
movement and non-locomotive movement from \'Elementary Physical Education\'.
The basic contents of English were body parts, basic shapes, basic words, and
basic steps from \'Elementary English\'. Seven children\'s English songs were
selected from \'Children\'s Songs of Special Education for the Gifted
Children-English Songs\': Hello; Ten Little Indians; Head, Shoulders, Knees and
Toes; Reach for the Sky; Sit Down, You\'re Rocking; Shake My Hand; and
Good-Bye to You.
