Using a sample from the KEEP, this study analyzes the cause and effect between the learning and the academic achievement by using panel data ranging from seniors of middle school to juniors of high school longitudinally. To define the variables between the learning and the academic achievement, I selected 7 latent variables and 15 observed variables such as the family back ground(parents\' school career, parents\' attention, and income), learning (instruction or in school learning, study, and out-of-school learning or extracurricular work), and academic achievement(school record). Concretely, a panel analysis and a path analysis are conducted to assure what influence the learning has on academic achievement. As a result of this analysis, I can grasp the followings; first, the family background directly impacts learning activity rather than academic achievement. Second, the learning in middle school influences the learning and the academic achievement in high school directly. But, there is a limitation to explain the association with the academic achievement of previous and next school year. This result is believed to be useful to understanding secondary school student\'s the learning and the academic achievement.
