This study aim to suggest the roles and direction of the social welfare counseling for the elderly. Firstly, for this purpose growth of old people, elderly\'s position change in modern family and their agonies which can be senior\'s problems background reviewed. According to Korean Information and Referral Service Center on Aging in special, elderly people analyzed in agonies with health, loneliness, poverty, loss and finding the right nursing home. Secondly, social welfare counseling cope with these older people\' problems should be take notice of depression and dementia from feeling of loss, adult abuse and sexual advances. Finally, first it is necessary that the awareness to the elderly counseling for effective social welfare counseling for the elderly be improved, second it is necessary that the program in activation for preventive counseling for effective social welfare counseling for the elderly be considered organizationally. Third it is necessary that the technique and skill of counseling for the elderly be developed also.
