This study was conducted to examine the relationship between undergraduate students' decision-making
style and stress coping way. The purpose of this study is to examine stress coping way related to
decision-making styles and is helpful to the efficient intervention of college students' in counseling to
understand the differences between men and women. For this study, survey was conducted to 198 male/
female college students of two universities located in Seoul and Yongin and the results are as follows:
First, in the analysis on the relationship between decision-making style and gender difference, only rational
style showed more significant difference in women rather than men and stress coping didn't show any
difference by decision-making styles and gender. Second, the differences of stress coping style were
examined by decision-making styles related to classes. As results, Problem-focused coping and social
support coping were significant in instinctive style and social support was significant in dependent style.
But rational style was insignificant. Third, in the relationship between decision-making style and stress
coping way, rational style showed the highest correlation of problem-focused coping. Fourth, regression
analysis was conducted so as to examine the effect of stress coping way on decision-making style.
Problem-focused coping was significant in rational style, problem-focused coping and emotion-focused
coping were significant in instinctive style.
