3, 4세 유아들의 이름글자 쓰기 발달 분석

본 연구는 3, 4세 유아들의 이름글자 쓰기의 발달 단계를 분석하고자 실시되었다. 이를 위하여 전라북 도 J, I, G시에 위치한 유아교육기관에 다니고 있는 3세 유아 170명과 4세 유아 252명, 총 422명을 대 상으로 이름글자 쓰기를 실시하였다. 연구기간은 2013년 3월 12일부터 3월 23일까지인 신학기가 시작 된 직후에 실시하여 유아교육기관에서 실시되는 이름쓰기 교육의 직접적인 영향을 최소화하였다. 이 름글자 쓰기자료는 한글의 특성을 반영한 이름글자 쓰기 단계기준에 맞추어 0단계에서 10단계로 분석 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 3세 유아의 이름글자 쓰기 발달은 0단계에서 10단계까지 고루 퍼져있어 연령 내 개인차가 존재하였다 둘째, 4세 유아는 대부분 자신의 이름글자를 정확하게 쓸 수 있는 것으로 나 타났다. 셋째, 연령 간 이름쓰기 단계는 3세와 4세 간 차이를 보였다. 넷째, 개인별 이름글자를 구성 하고 있는 자모음 수와 이름쓰기 단계는 관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다.

영문초록

This study was conducted to analyze the developmental stages of 3- and 4-year-old children’s name - writing. For this research, name - writing samples were collected, from 422 children - 170 3-year-olds and 252 kids aged 4 - at early childhood educational institutes located in J. I and G cities in Jeollabuk-do. The name - writing samples were conducted from March 12 through March 23 in 2013, right after the opening of the new semester, to minimize the impacts name writing education at the institutes would have on the children’s name letter writing skills. Analysis of the collected data was made based on a 0 to 10 scale, which had been devised to categorize the name letter writing developmental stages by accommodating the characteristics of the Korean alphabet. This study produced the following results: First, individual differences were found among the 3-year-old kids in their name letter writing skills, which spread evenly throughout the entire developmental stages. Second, most of the 4-year-olds were found to be able to write their name letters correctly. Third, differences were found between the two age groups in the developmental stages of name letter writing. Fourth, no correlation was found between the name letter writing developmental stages and the number of consonants and vowels in individual children’s names.
