본 연구에서는 1984년부터 2012년 사이에 '한국교원교육연구'에 실린 논문 743편을 주제 측 면과 연구방법 측면에서 분석하였다. 분석한 결과, 주제 측면에서는 1) 연구 분야의 다양성, 2) 교사에 대한 연구와 교사교육에 대한 연구의 미분화, 3) 교사교육 철학이나 관점 연구의 미흡, 4) 이론 연구보다 현장 연구 위주 등의 특징이 있는 것으로 나타났고, 연구방법 측면에 서는 1) 연구방법의 다양화, 2) 양적연구 편중 현상의 심화 등의 특징이 있는 것으로 나타났 다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 1) 교원교육 분야 정체성 확립 필요, 2) 교원교육 분야 이론 연 구의 정립, 3) 연구방법 측면에서 질적 연구와 양적 연구의 조화 등이 필요함을 제안하였다
The purpose of this research is to analyze the characteristics of the trend of research on teacher education in Korea. For that purpose, I collected and analyzed 743 articles of 'Korean Journal of Teacher Education' based on themes and methods of articles. From this research, I found the characteristics of themes of research on teacher education in Korea as followings : 1) There are various sides of research on teacher education in Korea. 2) There are small in quantity of articles on directive teacher education. 3) There are not divided between the research on teacher education and on teacher. 4) There are lack of research on philosophy of teacher education. 5) There are more practical studies than academic studies on teahcer education. And I also found the characteristics of methods of research on teacher education in Korea as followings : 1) There are various methods of research on teacher education. 2) There are more quantitative studies than qualitative studies. I can get some hints for the development of the research on teacher education in Korea as followings : 1) We have to establish the identity on the research of teacher education in Korea. 2) We should increase the researchers of teacher education in Korea. 3) We have to set up academic studies on teacher education. 4) We need to make the balance between quantitative studies and qualitative studies.
