This study aims to analyze teachers’ perceptions and experiences on lifelong learning and
their effects on the commitment to teaching and job satisfaction. As a result of the study,
there was meaningful relationship between those two factors; teachers’ perceptions and
experiences on lifelong learning, and the effects on the commitment to teaching and job
satisfaction. The study illustrates that the efforts are needed for enhancing the perceptions
and participations on lifelong learning, in order to enhance the general level of commitment
to teaching and job satisfaction. Therefore in this study, the concluding factors were drawn
as can be seen below.
To enhance the commitment to teaching and job satisfaction generally, following factors
would be material. Firstly, it is needed to enhance various efforts to stimulate the perception
on lifelong learning. Secondly, encouraging teachers’ participation should be required.
Thirdly, more attention is needed to the teachers who have been shown relatively less
perception on lifelong learning, such as male-teacher, private school teacher and etc. For the
fourth, in order to particularly enhance job satisfaction for teachers, it is substantial to
motivate them for health and family-life related program. For the fifth, as spontaneity is one
of the key factors, expanding lifelong learning program which teachers can participate
spontaneously is also important. Finally, to encourage teachers’ lifelong learning, it is
recommended to reduce their excessive burden in work, to produce various information and
adequate program regarding lifelong learning and to assist associated costs if necessary.
