The purpose of this study is to analyze the competencies of instructional consultants. To achieve this objective, this study analyzed the eight instructional consultants awarded excellent instructional consulting prize 2007-2008 from seoul metropolitan office of education. The data were collected by Behavioral Event Interview and analyzed by reorganized dictionary of McBer and Company composed of the weighted scores and relative importance of six competence clusters and 22 competencies. Through the analysis of the eight instructional consultants, the study found a relative importance of 'assisting method', 'flexible handling', 'situational interpretation', and 'achievement and action' competency. At the end of the paper, the study suggested a necessity of deliberating the instructional consulting methods and exploring relative important competencies.
