The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationship among teacher
community, teacher commitment and teacher efficacy. In this study, teacher efficacy is set up
as mediate variables and input separately by levels(individual and group). The teacher data
was from Korea Education Longitudinal Study 2005(KELS 2005).
Findings of the study are as follows. Firstly, teacher community have influence on teacher
commitment. In the teacher community, teachers share value of school and cooperate each
other. Teachers are immersion in their work by this collaboration and sharing. Secondly,
both self-teacher efficacy and collective teacher efficacy are mediator of relationship of
teacher community and teacher commitment. The more teacher efficacy(self and collective),
the more influence of teacher community on teacher commitment. Thirdly, collective teacher
efficacy's mediate effect is larger than self-teacher efficacy's. This fact explains that teacher
community is powerful resource of collective teacher efficacy and collective teacher efficacy
has synergy effect surpass a simple synthesis of individual's ability. So I propose that
teachers should have group enablement to reinforce collective teacher efficacy.
