인지학습 양식의 연구자들은 개별적으로 인지학습양식을 연구하여 다양한 명칭으로 결과들을 보고함에 Riding과 Cheema(1991)는 이들을 전체적 분석적 차원으로 그리고 언어적 심상적 차원으로 선행연구들을 범주화하여 2차원적으로 종합한 보편적이고 실용적인 인지양식(C.S.A)를 제작하였다. 그 검사는 Computer에 의해 실시되어 채점하게 되었다. 본 연구자는 그 검사를 한국학생들에게 적합한 지필검사로 사용하여 실용화하려는 의도에서 그것을 번안하고 수정 문항을 첨가하여 고등학교 1학년학생 541명(남학생 298명, 여학생 243명)의 표집의 결과를 분석하였다. 분석결과 전체 학생들의 학습양식의 분포실태는 전체심상화형(WI)과 분석심상화형(AI)이 많으며, 성별 간에는 차이가 있고, 대학입학의 전형자료인 수학능력검사 대비 모의고사(종로학원용)의 각 교과 학업성취도 역시 여학생들이 수학과 사회에서 남학생들을 앞질렀다. 학습양식 하위변인과 각 교과간 및 교과들 간의 상관은 구인관계를 나타내며, 각 학습유형들과 부합되는 교과들이 밝혀짐과 동시에 이들이 분명히 확인되었다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the academic high school students' learning styles and the learning achievement. The paper found 4 types of learning styles and compared them to see if there were any relationships between the academic high students' learning styles and the scores of trial examination(Jong-ro academy) prepared for the national academic achievement examination for the college entrance. The results of this research were in substance as follows. 1) There are significant differences in the learning styles, that is, the overall distribution of subjects tends to incline to Whole-Imagers style and Analytic-Imagers style. According to gender, males distributes over various learning style but females tend to incline to Whole-Imagers style. 2) There are significant differences in the gender. Females achieve out-performing males in mathematics and sociology. 3) There is the correlation among sub-variables of learning style, subjects and subjects 4) Learning styles fitting each subject are as follows: Analytic-Verbalisers: Language and Sociology; Aanalytic-Imagers: Mathematics and Science, Whole-Vervalisers: Language and English, Whole-Imagers: English and Mathematics 5) There are significant differences in learning achievement of each subject by each learning styles.
