본 연구의 목적은 유치원교사 양성과정에서의 교과교육의 내용 및 지도 방법을 조사하여 유치원 교사 양성과정에서 교과교육영역의 바람직한 운영에 대한 기초자료를 제공하는데 있다． 2년제와 4년제 대학 유아교육과에서 교과교육관련 과목을 담당하는 교수들을 대상으로 연구자들이 제작한 설문지를 기술통계방법을 사용하여 분석하였다． 연구 결과 교과교육관련 과목을 담당하는 교수들은 유치원 교사양성과정에서 교직과목의 교과교육론은 초· 중등교육과는 달리 유아교육에서는 통합교과교육론으로 되어야하며 교과교재 연구 및 지도법은 교구제작 후 교수방법의 활용을 더 강화해야한다고 인식하고 있었다．
The purpose of this study is to examine the actual conditions of the courses in the subject matter education field in early childhood teacher training and to prepare the good curriculum and instruction models for the subject matter education. The subjects were 59 professors who were in charge of the courses for subject matter education in colleges and universities for early childhood teacher training. They were surveyed through the questionnaire producted by the researchers. The collected data was analyzed by the descriptive statistic method.. The results of the study are as follows; 1) The professors have deeply recognized the importance of the courses for subject matter education field for early childhood teacher training. 2) The contents of the courses were focused on the diverse teaching strategy rather than theories of subject matter education. 3) The professors have emphasized that the courses for subject matter education should be characterized as the integrated curriculum and instruction in compared with the elementary and secondary education levels.
