The purpose of the article was to develop the transformative model and practival application of the game for understanding model in elementary school physical education classes.
Traditionally, game lessons have been structured around learning techniques associated with these skills. This technique approach places the emphasis of instruction on developing physical ablity rather than an understanding the overall dynamics of game play.
On the other hand an alternative approach emphasizes effective decision making for game play. this approach was lerned the games for understanding model by Bunker & Thorpe 919820. But, it was difficult for practical application in elementary school physical education classes, because this approach proposed only general class procedures for physical education classes.
In order to compensate this problem, this article provided the transformative model in consideration of practical application in elementary physical education classes.
Also, this artivle provided a representative review of the currand literature on research of the game for understanding model in order to develop the transfromative model, and proposed the hypothetical results of ons case study in order to promote the possibilities of the practical application in elemenraty physical education classes.
