The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of enneagram personality types in terms of anger experience,
anger expression and interpersonal relations in adolescents. The questionnaire asking participants’ anger experience, anger
expression, interpersonal relations was distributed from July 1st to September 16th in 2013 to two high schools located in Seoul
area, and finally the data from 254 students were obtained. As the results, among the nine-enneagram personality types, the
type 9 was the most frequent type. Also, among the triadic center of enneagram personality type, the gut type was most
frequently measured. In terms of anger experience, the score of trait anger was 22.23, state anger was 12.44, anger-control was
20.10, anger-in was 15.39 and the score of anger-out was 17.11. Anger experience and anger expression were significantly
different between boys and girls. In conclusion, we hope that the findings from this study can contribute enhancing students’
mental health and interpersonal relations through deep understanding of others and themselves. For the further studies, we
suggest to develop many educational programs for those students that can enhance their mental well-being, especially related to
their anger and interpersonal relations.
