In Yoga, Mantra meditation is a very powerful and effective tool to train mind directly. Mantra is a sacred word filled
with spiritual energy. It can bring about relax of mind that can help solving stress of people. Through the vibration
of Aum Mantra, it can stimulate chakras and help awakening kundalini. The purpose of this study was to examine the
effect of Mantra meditation program for teachers' psychological well-being and stress. for this study participants were
25 teachers in J middle school in Seoul. They were divided into experimental group of 12 and control group of 13.
The experimental group experienced Mantra meditation program for 12 session-4 weeks. On the other hand, control
group had none of treatment. Before and after the program, the participants' psychological well-being was measured
by the Psychological Well-being Scale(PWBS), and their stress was measured by Psychosocial health was measured
by the Psychosocial Well-being Index(PWBI). For the verification of this study's hypothesis, statistical analysis were
processed by SPSS 12.0 and ANOVA which set pre-test scores as covariance was used to know the differences between
groups. The result of this study was as follows: The experimental group who participated in mantra meditation program
showed significant effect and supported the hypothesis of this study. It suggested that mantra meditation program could
be effective alternatives to solve the stress of teachers and raise psychological well-being of them. The meaning of
this study is that Mantra meditation program can be effective alternatives for teachers' stress and psychological
well-being, and the effect of meditation program as a good tool for healing mind and body of teachers can be identified.
