This research examines 351 J educational college freshmen\'s habitual life and their thoughts on exercise and sports. The research obtains the following results.
1. Living Habits
1) Dwelling: Living together with their parents and/ or family is the most common practice, which is followed by lodging, boarding, livin by himself/herself in an apartment, of living in the dormitory. There is a significant difference in residence types between group(p<.05)
2) Commuting : Buses and taxies are themost common commuting way, which is followed by walking driving, fideng a bicycle/ motorcycle. There is a significant difference in commuting methods between groups (p<.05).
3) Smoking: High percentage of the freshmen have never smoked. There is a significant difference in smoking habits between groupOp<.05).
4) Drinking Alcohol: High percentage of the freshmen drink alcohol. There is a significant difference between groups in drinking alcohol, and male freshmen students show significantly more frequency of drinking alcohol than the other three groups(male and remale transterred students and female freshmen)(p<.05),
5) Eating Breakfast: More than forty(41.3%) percentage of the freshmen don\'t eat breakfast than male freshmen students(p<.05).
6) Sleeping: Female transfer students sleep the longest among the four groups although there is no significant difference between the groups.
2. Exercise % Sports
1) Participation : Only a small number of students partivipate in sports after entering college, Male students show a higher interest and are more likely to participate in sports than female students. Interestingly, only 22,2% students repliedm \" I am satisfied with my current physical condition \"
2) Behavior Change: Male freshmen show a high percentage of movement from the interest and the preparation phases towards the action phase. On the other hand.5.1% of female freshmen students and 4.8% of female transfer students are still in the no interest phase.
3) Effects : Male freshmen students show a higher exercise effect than female freshmen students, even in the bad circumstances. They comment that regular exercise helps them lose weight, maintain physical health, increase interest and lesson stresses.
4) Opinions and Behavioral TendenciesL Male freshmen students and the transfer students show a more lositive attitude toward exercise and sport than female frechmen students.
