The purpose of this study is to define the effects of elementary students\' dance sport activity on physical self-efficacy. for this purpose, this study presents fundamnental information for application of dance sport in school and promotion of systematic programs for dance sport.
The subject of study were 305 elementary students who are sixth graders of H elementary school in Busan. The pre-test for this study was carried by the questionnaire of physical self-efficacy (produced by Hyckman 1982 & translated by Hong Sun-Ok, 1996), Among 120 children who got a low score, 44 children who wanted to participate in the activity were for a experimental group and 44 children in the others were for comparioson for a control group.
The experimental group received the dance sport pgrogram designed for the extra-curricular activities and after - school activities. The program contained 18 trainigs which were processed twice of third a week for 8 weeks.
In order to analyze the effects of elementary student\'s dance sprot activity on physical self-efficacy .
T-test was applied to the scores of pre and post-tests.
The results were as follows:
First, In the case of boys, the group partivipated in the dance sport program presented higher perceived physical competence than non-participated group. Otherwise, in the case of gilrs, meaningful improvement couldn\'t be found out.
Second, Both boys and girls partivipated in the dance sprot program perceiced higher confidence for physical self- expression than non-participated children.
Third, Both boys and girls partivipated in the dance sport program perceived higher physical self- efficacy than non-partivipated children.
