This study is designed to make a study of the pregame competitive anxiety and mental power of elemenraty badminton players, to grope for thier actual conditions and to present basic maaterials necessary for looking into the problems with instructing players. With this in mind, the researcher worked a total of 173 elementary chool badminton players across the spiritual strength, relying in Window SPSS 10.0 to calculate M and SD and depending on two-way ANOVA.
The following are the findings.
First, the survey by geneder that the ninity girls had higher state anxity than the eighty three boys in terms of cognitive state anxiety than the eighty three boys in terms of cognitive state anxiety than the eighty three boys in terms of cognitive state anxiety physical statd anxiety and that the latter had higher state confidence than the former, That survey by game level(fifty goo dplayers and 123 poor players) indicates that there was no fignificant difference between the two kinds of players in terms of cognitive state anxiety and that the former had a little higher physical physical state anxiety and state confidence than the latter.
second, the two- way ANOVA survey on competitive stated anxiety shows that there was a significant difference incognitive state axiety and state confidence and that there was no significant difference in physical state anxiety (p<.05).There was no fignificant difference in physical state anxiety (p<.05) . There was no significant difference in all the areas of game level and gender x game level.
Third, the survey on the subjects\' mental power by M and SD shows that the boys had high scores than the girls in all the area of mental power and that there was a great difference between them in terms of self- confidence, visualization and image - adjusting arease.
The survey on game level reveals that good players had higher scores than the poor players in all the areas with the exception of motivation level.
Forth, the two- way ANOVA survey on spiritual strength revelas that there was a significant difference in self- confidence, visualization and image adjustment by gender and that there was significant difference in terms of visualization, image adjustment y gender and that there was significant difference in terms of visualization, image adjustment, and attitude control by game level(p<.01) and that there was no significant difference in all the areas of gendder x game level ineraction.
