This study validated the Contextual Supports and Barriers measures developed by Lent, Brown, Brenner, et al.(2001) with Korean samples. The study focused on examining the applicability of this measure for the Korean college students in various majors. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses partially supported a 3-factor structure for the Supports measure (social support, instrumental support, financial support) and for the Barriers measure (physical constraint, social influence, discrimination), respectively. Criterion validity was demonstrated with the correlation with other career measures. Comparisons with the original measure and other support and barriers scales were discussed.
본 연구는 Lent, Brown, Brenner 등 (2001)이 개발한 맥락적 지지 및 장벽 측정도구를 타당화하였다. 특히 이공계를 대상으로 사용되도록 개발된 원척도가 다른 전공의 우리나라 대학생들에게도 적용될 수 있는지를 평가하였다. 탐색적 및 확인적 요인분석 결과, 3개의 지지요인(사회적 지지, 도구적 지지, 경제적 지지)과 3개의 장벽요인(물리적 제한, 사회적 영향, 차별)으로 구성된 요인 구조가 부분적으로 지지되었다. 지지요인과 장벽요인은 진로결정 자기효능감 및 진로미결정과 예상된 상관관계를 나타내었다. 본 연구 결과를 원척도 및 관련 척도들의 요인구조와 비교하고 제한점을 논의하였다.
