This study explores the status and problems of parent educational supporting activities in school, not from the viewpoint of traditional school education, but the perspective of parents. In order to analyze this research, it examines the problems of parents' participation in school including school services for parents and policy delivery system for parents' education and activities. The result of the study suggests following three policy directions in order to enrich the parent participation in schools. First, community-based parents' participation system, not school-based, should be necessary. Second, parents' initiative and autonomy in their activities should be enhanced. Third, as the proper duty of the school, the school service system for parents should be strengthened. As the result, for the new educational paradigm in Korea, this research emphasizes that parents can play roles as the main stream of the education and they have great potential.
