학교는 학생들의 인성적 성장, 통합, 자율성을 획득하게 하고, 자아 및 타인 그리고 학습에 대한 건전한 태도를 형성하게 하는 과정으로서 자아실현의 장을 제공한다. 따라서 학교 현장에서 강조하는 전인교육은 교과활동과 특별활동 그리고 학습지도와 생활지도가 상호보완적으로 균형과 조화의 관계를 유지하는 교육이므로(안종현, 1993), 이전의 교과활동과 학습지도 위주의 교육에서, 현재에는 생활지도의 중심활동인 상담활동의 중요성이 대두하게 되었다(정은진, 2000). 하지만 이러한 학교상담의 중요성에 비해 현재 학교상담의 활동은 다음과 같은 제한점을 가지고 있다.
The objectives of this study were to examine the changes of the teacher\'s insight level and empathic understanding level in a psycho-drama group counseling. The study also aimed to provide the basic data in developing a counseling training program for teachers. To perform this study, 8 sessions of three hours group counseling were carried out for four days. There were 8 participants in this group. The instruments used for this study were insight level classification scale and empathic understanding classification scale. The results of this study were follows : First, the psycho-drama group counseling for teachers show meaningful changes for the improvement of teachers\' insight level. Second, the psycho-drama group counseling for teachers dose not have meaningful consequences for the improvement of teachers\' empathic understanding level. Third, there were significant changes in the teachers\' insight level and empathic understanding level on the process. Therefore the conclusion of this study was that the psycho-drama group counseling can be a part of counseling training program for the teachers
