The purpose of this study was to find a successful music deucation program by utilizing creative expression. The study identified teaching objectives in music program and examined the interrelationship among musicality, feeling, and creativity. An instructional strategy in the teaching of musical elements, i.e., tempo, dynamics, and timbre was investigated with actual musical examples to develop creative expression. Music is not an acdemic subject, but a part of the arts. It deals with aesthetic knowledge, not scientific knowledge. As compared to descriptive knowledge, aesthetic knowledge (tacit knowing) is characterized by its inwardness and depth and should be approached by feeling and thought. This side of music made us to realize that music instruction is about what and how to ask, not about teaching itself. Music aims at dsveloping the aesthetic potential of human beings by exploring the interaction among musicality, feeling, and creativity. Creative musical expression is only possible when the basic elements of music is understood in connection with their relationships to each other. A desirable method of music education is to decrease the emphasis on techniques and skills and instead to focus on developing the understanding of the structure of music and emotional reaction to music. Because the latter fosters an individual`s stronger desire to express himself musically, he would acquire the necessary skils during the process.
