This research study had been conducted to develop an assessing tool
for testing music-related behaviors of Korean school-aged students
ranging from grade 3 through grade 10. The study was conducted from
the month of July, 2006 to the month of February, 2007.
In the initial phase of the study, theories on music performance and
music evaluation were examined. In the following phase, collection and
analysis of the published standardized music achievement tests were
conducted.
In the third phase of the study, categories for the test were selected
and actual test items were developed accordingly. In the fourth phase, the draft test were administered to the students in the collaborating schools for evaluating reliability, validity, and discriminating effects of the test.
After these preliminary phases, the final test was developed, in which
reliability, validity, and difficulty levels were carefully controlled.
