The purpose of this study is to investigate the meaning of Constructivism and to examine how to apply the idea of it to music education. The main elements of Constructivism could be provided as relativity, changeableness, subjectivity, context, viability, and wholeness. The idea of Constructivism could be applied to music classes: singing, playing, creating, appreciation, and concept-based learning. It is more important for students to construct musical knowledge and experience than to receive it only. They need to recognize and experience the primitive and original concept about musical activities because the modern way of music learning has many rules that make the students feel difficulty in music classes. Music teachers need to allow them to sing, play, create, and appreciate in the mood of creativity and freedom and in the perspective of Constructivism.
