Instructors are the people who guide their students as well as know them very well. This present study examined how music instructors in the public institutes for the musically gifted and talented in South Korea perceived their students` educational environments. The interview method of qualitative approach was taken for data collection and analysis. The findings were the following. First, the interviewees thought family environments, especially parental ones were very important in the education of the musically gifted students. However, they pointed out the harmful effect of excessive zeal from some parents. Second, the interviewees showed disposition that the importance of instructors were next to that of parents for the musically gifted students. They thought the teachers need their own abilities, standards and personalities. Third, the instructors revealed some concerns about lack of social skills or emotional problems of some musically gifted students. Finally, the instructors perceived the needs of improvement for identification processes, educational policies, and curricula for the musically gifted.
