본 연구는 오르프접근법의 다중표상 활동이 유아의 음악표현능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 만 5세 유아를 대상으로 실험연구를 실시하였다. 오르프접근법의 다중표상 활동을 16회 실시한 실험집단과 누리과정 예술영역 프로그램을 실시한 비교집단의 사전 사후검사로 두 집단 간 음악표현능력의 변화정도를 알아보았다. 그 결과 오르프접근법의 다중표상 활동은 유아의 음악표현능력에 긍정적인 영향을 주었으며, 하위영역 중 악기다루기 영역에서 긍정적인 변화가 가장 크게 나타났다. 유아의 음악표현능력을 효과적으로 신장시키기 위한 방안으로 다중표상 활동을 통한 교육적 접근을 활용할 필요가 있다.
This research investigated the effects of multiple representation activities using Orff approach on young children’s musical expressing abilities as well as differences among sub-areas of these abilities. Subjects were two 5-year-old classes of P kindergartens in S city, Gyeonggi-Do. They were divided into 25 kids of the experimental group and 25 children of the comparative group, and they were applied to the multiple representation activities utilizing the Orff approach. Results of this study were as follows. First, the multiple representation activities using the Orff approach had positive influences on all sub-areas of young children’s musical expressing abilities; expecially, music-making ability had the most impact on their musical expressing abilities. Second, the multiple representation activities using the Orff approach had an effect on overall musical expressing abilities such as singing songs, playing musical instruments, physical expressions, music-making abilities, and so on. Research findings confirmed that the multiple representation activities using the Orff approach could promote young children’s musical expressing abilities.
