교육과정 연계에 있어 음악과의 경우 통합교육 관점에서 횡적 조직으로서의 연구와 프로그램 개발은 활발히 이루어지고 있으나 종적 조직으로서 이에 대한 연구는 초, 중등 학교현장에서의 실질적인 요구에도 불구하고 상대적으로 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 계속성, 계열성, 통합성으로 이루어진 타일러의 교육과정 조직 원리에 근거하여 음악과 교육과정 연계성의 의미를 정립하고, 이 중 초, 중등 학교급간 음악과 연계성을 지금까지의 선행연구들을 통해 제시된 ‘내용 영역과 기준’ 부분을 중심으로 고찰해보고자 하였다. 이에 본 연구는 초, 중등학교급간 연계를 위해서는 현행 음악과 교육과정에서 제시된 영역과 요소들의 지속, 심화, 확충, 통합을 통한 연계가 필수적이며 전달체로서의 제재곡을 중심으로 한 연계 방법을 제안하였으며 초, 중등 교사들 상호간의 이해와 협력을 통한 연계도 중요함을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 고찰이 구체적인 음악과 연계성 연구의 방향을 제시할 수 있기를 바라며 나아가 효과적 음악 연계성 프로그램 개발을 위한 토대가 되기를 기대해 본다.
The connections within the curriculum are one of the important factors that determine the quality of the curriculum and it should be generally accepted and applied as a vertical concept between the grades or the schools, and as a horizontal concept in or between the courses. In the case of the music course, the researches and developments of the programs as the horizontal system have been relatively fully conducted but the researches as the vertical system on the integrated education have been insufficiently dealt with, although there are needs from educational fields. Therefore this study is to found the concept of the connection of music course between schools based on the basic principles of curriculum by Tyler, provide the foundation for the development of music connection programs by searching the connection between elementary and middle school music curricula, and suggest the direction forward for music education.
