The purpose of this study is to know the influence of conversation-oriented
appreciation education of art on students' self-esteem. To reach the goal of the
study, class was
developed based on theological researches. Genres of East and West about playing
was appreciated by the learners conversing with the teachers. Based on this
activity, lessons were planned with a goal that students will express their own
playing by drawing. In the process of a conversation-oriented appreciation and
expression course, lesson plan was designed to focus on effectuating interaction
through conversations between the teacher and the student and among students.
The results of this study are as follows.
This study showed that the conversation-oriented appreciation education of art
gives positive effect on improvement of the sense of self-esteem. First, overall
sense of self-esteem of experimental group was improved after the test lesson.
Second, all four sub-categories showed improvement in the sense of self-esteem
after the test lesson. Third, after analysing the results, the sense of self-esteem of
the experimental group was relatively higher than the control group.
By the results of this study we can learn that the conversation-oriented
appreciation education of art does give help in improving the sense of self-esteem.
Therefore, there is a greater need for a deeper study on this method of education.
It is wished that this learning method would be expanded among the students and
to be researched for a long period.
