The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a program of happiness using picture books. Happiness is a feeling of joy in our lives, and it is a stable psychological condition that does not feel insufficient or insecure because the desire is satisfied. The program lasted from November 10, 2016 to December 9, 2016. The subject of the experiment is 40 children in the 5th-year-old age group who lives S province in G city. The research tool refers to the tools produced by Bryant(1982) to measure empathy ability. In order to measure the emotional intelligence, used one by Kim, Hyang Mi(2010) and developed by Lee Byung Rae(1997) based on the emotional intelligence model of Mayer and Salovey(1998). The content of happiness promotion program contents are about pleasure, positive thinking, love, self-esteem, appreciation, interpersonal relationship, confidence, praise, respect for others, accomplishment. The sub-elements of the program for promoting happiness include communication, care, cooperation, service, sharing, respect, and positive thinking, happiness, and creative problem solving. In other words, through the happiness enhancement activities using the emotional picture book, the infant will be able to grow in most activities, satisfy, challenge new things, and recognize the existence of oneself and others.
