보육시설은 취학 전의 어린 아동에게 가정 밖에서 처음으로 전문적이고 체계적인 보호와 교육을 제공하는 중요한 공간이다. 이런 탓에, 어린 아동의 보육시설 적응은 어린 아동이 건전하게 성장하고 발달하는 데 있어 필수적이다. 이때에 여러 수준에서 제공하는 사회적 지지는 어린 아동의 보육시설 적응에 긍정적으로 작용할 수 있다. 하지만 그동안 국내에서는 지역사회 수준에서 제공하는 사회적 지지도 함께 고려하면서, 사회적 지지가 어린 아동의 보육시설 적응에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지를 조사한 연구는 없다. 이에 본 연구에서는 가족․보육시설․지역사회 수준에서 제공하는 사회적 지지가 어린 아동의 보육시설 적응에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 결과, 가족․보육시설․지역사회 수준의 사회적 지지, 성, 돌봄자 유무는 어린 아동의 보육시설 적응에 유의미하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 사회적 지지의 영향력은 교사 지지, 또래 지지, 지역사회 지지, 가족 지지의 순으로 나타났다.
Educare facilities are important settings where specialized and systematic care and education is provided to preschool children for the first time outside their homes. Therefore adjustment of young children to educare facilities is essential for their healthy growth and development. In this case, social support furnished at the various levels can have an influence on educare facility adjustment(CFA) in a positive manner. Thus far, however, previous researches have rarely taken into consideration the aspect of social support at the community level when studying the effect of social support on young children s CFA. So this study endeavored to analyze the influence of social support at the family-, facility-, and community levels on their CFA empirically. The results indicated that all forms of social support at the above-mentioned levels, sex, and carer exerted a significant influence on young children s CFA. Also the strongest determinant of CFA was teacher support, followed by peer support, community support, and family support.
