The purpose of this study is to understand how online teaching practice support systems of universities for training pre-service teachers have been operated in South Korea and explore how to improve them to enhance pre-service teachers’ teaching competence. To analyze the status quo of online teaching practice support systems, web pages related to teaching practice were examined. For this study, a content analysis was used to analyze how universities for training pre-service teachers use web pages for pre-service teachers’ teaching practice. A coding scheme was developed based on previous research related to teaching practice and web-based learning environments, and it consisted of two parts: instructional contents and structural aspects. According to the results, there were few basic information about teaching practice on most online teaching practice support systems in South Korea and they did not fulfill the necessary conditions as web-based learning environments. Considering the results of the analysis, this study suggested several implications for improving online teaching practice support system of universities in South Korea.
