본 연구는 유치원에 다니는 만 5세 유아들 16명에게 카메라를 주고 자신이 실내와 실외에서 자신이 표현하고 싶은 것을 마음대로 표현해 보게 하였다. 유아들은 실외에서 찍은 사진의 경우에는 자연과 사물이 동등한 비율로 많았으며, 실내사진의 경우에서는 교재와 교구가 가장 많고, 게시물과 환경 구성물이 다음으로 비슷하게 많았다. 유아들이 실외에서 피사체를 찍은 이유는 아름다움을 표현하고, 자신이 하고 싶은 욕구를 표현하고 싶어서인 것으로 나타났다. 실내에서 피사체를 찍은 이유는 자신이 활동해 본 교재와 교구 중에서 재미있었던 것을 주로 선택하여 촬영한 것으로 나타났다. 유아들에게 자신이 찍은 사진 중에서 가장 좋아하는 사진을 선택하게 하였을 때 실외에서는 자연물과 사물 등을 다양하게 선택하였으며, 실내에서는 교재와 교구 환경구성물 등을 다양하게 선택하였다. 선택한 이유에 대해서는 예뻐서, 재미있어서, 궁금해서라고 대답하였다. 본 연구의 의의는 5세 유아도 카메라로 자신이 표현하고 싶은 대상을 피사체로 선정하여 촬영하고, 그 이미지를 통해 얼마든지 표현할 수 있는 능력이 있다는 사실을 알게 된 것이라 할 수 있다
The purpose of this study is to experiment and investigate the photographs that taken by 16 5years old kindergarten children. The results of the study shows the following: Within the outdoor setting, children took the equal amount of photos of nature and objects. Within the indoor settings, most of the children took photographs of play material, and the decorations of the setting. The result of the study shows that the reasons why children taking photographs outdoor is to express the beauty of the subject and to play with it. In the other hand, In indoor settings, children tend to take photos of subjects that they are familiar with or had a good memory with certain objects. Children were asked to pick their favorite photos and the reasons for picking their favorites were because it was either, attractive looking, fun or out of curiosity. This study represents that five years old children have ability to pick their own subject for photography and express themselves. In addition, this study suggest using variety medias for education purposes from kindergarten to elementary school.
