본 연구의 결과, 인구사회학적 특성인 성별과 학력, 연령은 국가보안법 존폐에 대한 국민의 의견에 전혀 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 개인적 신념 및 태도의 하위 변인인 행복감, 국가자긍심도 국가보안법 존폐에 대해 찬성하거나 반대하는 의견에 전혀 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 보수적 성향을 지닌 국민들이 진보적 성향을 지닌 국민들보다 국가보안법 폐지에 반대한다는 것을 알 수 있었고, 청와대 및 중앙정부부처 지도층을 신뢰하지 않을수록 그리고 국가안보 위협에 대한 정부의 대처가 실패했다고 생각할수록 국가보안법 폐지에 찬성하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과는 국가보안법이 기존 정치권력을 유지하는 수단으로 악용되어 왔던 과거에 대한 기억이 국민들에게 남아있기 때문이라고 해석할 수 있다. 따라서 국가보안법은 정치권력과의 유대관계를 청산하고 고유의 목적으로 거듭나야 할 필요가 있다. 또한 국가보안법 존폐에 대한 국민들의 의견을 정립하기 위해서는 국민의 정치적 성향과 청와대 및 중앙정부부처 지도층에 대한 신뢰 수준, 국가안보 위협에 대한 정부 정책에 대한 평가도 등을 복합적으로 고려한 차별화된 정책과 전략을 수립할 필요가 있다.
This study show that gender, educational level, age are absolutely no effect on public opinion to maintenance or abolition of National Security Law. And this study show that happiness and national pride as sub factors of private conviction and attitude are absolutely no effect on public opinion to be opposed to abolition of National Security Law. But it show that people of conservative temperament are more opinion to be opposed to abolition of National Security Law than liberal. And increases with distrust towards the leading men of Blue House and Government and increases with government s handling of menace to our national security failed, there are more favors the abolition of the law. This result can understand as because public to be reminded the memories of past that National Security Law are only a means to achieve and maintain power. Therefore, we broke off National Security Law close links with political power. For clearly established public attitude about maintenance or abolition of National Security Law, we need to construct differentiated policies and strategies with compounding of public conservative or liberal temperament, trust level towards the leading men of Blue House and Government, evaluation about government s handling of menace to our national security.
