본 연구는 대한민국 정부 부처에서 개발한 영유아기 부모교육 자료의 주제를 시대별로 분석하여 그 경향성을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 1981년에서 2014년까지 정부 부처가 개발한 88편의 부모교육 자료를 대상으로 내용 분석을 실시하여 자료에 포함된 주제를 도출하고 각 주제의 시대별 포함 빈도와 연평균 개발 편수를 산출하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 부모발달 영역에서는 일반적 부모 역할 관련 주제가 많았으며 이는 부모교육 전체 주제에서도 가장 많이 포함된 주제였다. 일반적 부모 역할 주제 중 가장 많이 포함된 주제는 자녀의 발달지원방법이었으며 개인적 발달 주제에서는 한국어 능력 발달이 가장 많이 포함되어 있었다. 자녀 발달 영역 주제에서는 신체운동·건강영역 주제가 가장 많았으며 사회·정서 및 사회과 지식, 인지적 성향 및 수·과학지식, 언어 발달, 예술 경험 및 예술적 창의성 영역 순으로 포함되어 있었다. 연구 결과를 통해 자료 개발에 있어서의 부처 간 상호작용 및 협력, 주제에 대한 부모의 실질적인 요구를 반영할 수 있는 방식의 자료 개발 등을 제언하였다.
This study aims to chronologically analyse and investigate the tendency of the themes of education material developed by the Korean government for young children’s parents. For this, the content analysis was conducted and themes were drawn for 88 materials developed by government from 1981 to 2014. The results of the study are as follows. First, themes related to general parents roles were mostly in the area of parent development. This was also most evident in the themes of parent education materials as a whole. The method of supporting children’s development was the most prevalent theme in general parents roles, and the development of Korean (language) ability was the most abundant in the themes of personal development of parents. In the area of children’s development, it was physical exercise and health as the most frequently appearing theme and in the order of social and emotional development and social studies knowledge, cognitive tendency and math and science knowledge, language development and art experience and artistic creativity. As a result, problem can arise from the non-use of already developed materials and is therefore a waste of state budget. We propose closer cooperation among government departments and to reflect a substantial need for parents in developing materials for education.
