The analects is a most unsystematic fragments of sayings, opinions, and ideas attributed to Confucius and his disciples. It is almost impossible to understand even a sentence of the Analects without constant referring the hidden contexts where Confucius and his disciples dialogue originate. This study is to explore an educational context of the Analects and disclose educational meaning of sayings and ideas of Confucius and his disciples. It is necessary to use new educational concepts such as Hagsiseub(學時習), Hoehwa(誨化), Ihaeng(離行) to depict the educational activities and relationship of Confucius and his disciples. This study shows an unique way to read the Analects from its educational context. Confucius and his disciples did hoehwa and hagsiseub in a world can be called Hagsulyeag(學術禮樂). Hagsulyeag is undifferentiated whole consisted of academic disciplines, arts, morality, and politics. Confucius and his disciples created an unique horizon of education. Their hagsiseub, hoehwa, hagsulyeag were merged into inseparable one in this horizon. This discovery can be helpful to rethink the unique properties and proper boundary of education.
