Japan has named ‘Integrated education school’ to ‘Compulsory education school’ and made it an official institution from April 2016 under the revision of the ‘School education act’, which provides the autonomy to introduce elementary and middle school class 9 years freely. This means that ‘Compulsory education school’ which are not tied to the ‘6-3’ system, are allowed to operate school class year classification based on the judgment of local governments or schools freely under the ‘4-3-2’ or ‘5-4’ system. In comparison, since 1993, Korea implemented the guidelines for integrating the ‘Ministry of Education’, and rapid integration has been carried out. More than a few schools of integrated operation school have emerged as a result of the consolidation and reduction of the number of students, and will likely continue to be promoted in the future. However, no clear systematic research or policy implementation has been carried out in the past. It is also a paradox that the timing of improvement of the school year system is far from reality, as the nation s current school system began in the past, when students physical development and mental maturity were much faster. It is also time to review the overall improvements in the policies of ‘Integrated operating school’ that may be accompanied by the promotion of appropriate national schools as a whole refer to similar backgrounds and cases in Japan.
