The purpose of this study was to investigate information ethics index, medical information security awareness, medical information security practice, and factors affecting health information security practice. The subjects of this study were 235 nursing college students who were practicing clinical practice in the three nursing colleges of G - metropolitan universities. Data collection took place from November 1, 2017 to November 30, 2017. Data were analyzed using SPSS / WIN 21.0 program, descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the higher the information ethics index, the higher the perception of medical information protection, the higher the degree of medical information protection practice. As a result of the stepwise regression analysis, it was found that 32.4% of the respondents had an influence on the degree of medical information protection practice in the order of respect area, information management area, and communication area among the sub - areas of information ethics index appear. Among these variables, it was confirmed that the information ethics index is an important factor affecting medical information protection practice. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop an approach to improve the medical information protection practices of nursing college students considering the related factors. In particular, respect should be sought as a strategic factor to improve medical information protection practice. It seems to be necessary.
